Graphics and Media Lab (GML) was established in 2002 as a part of Department of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. Laboratory possesses solid research experience in many areas of computer graphics, computer vision, image and video processing. Research is supported by Russian fund for basic research, state contracts, and by international companies Intel, Microsoft, Samsung.

The Microsoft Machine Learning and Intelligence School will take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from July 29 to August 5, 2015. The School is sponsored by Microsoft Research and Yandex and is organized in cooperation with Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU).


Denis Zobnin, a student from our laboratory, was awarded a diploma for the talk "Brain MRI registration algorithm based on key points matching" (authors O.V. Senyukova, D.S. Zobnin, A.V. Petraikin) on the International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks Neuroinformatics-2015. Congratulations on the first scientific success!

Starting July 1, 2014 Anton S. Konushin is a new head of Graphics & Media Lab.


Prof. Yuri M. Bayakovsky, head of our laboratory, has passed on June 17, 2014 after long illness. He had established our laboratory and taught several generations of students. All his life was devoted to computer graphics in Russia. He made an invaluable contribution to science. We will always remember him as a good person and mentor.


Congratulations to Ivan Karpukhin, who is among winners of spring final of "UMNIK" program, and has received grant for his project "Development of voice command detection system using audio and video data".


Mikhail Sindeyev, researcher of our lab, has died February 14, 2014 from stroke at 27. He was one of the most talented graduates of our laboratory and active participant of many research projects. In May 2013 he successfully defended his PhD thesis "Research and developement of video matting algorithms". Our sincere condolenses to his parents. We will deeply miss him.


Congratulations to Olga Senyukova, who has received CMC scholarship for young scientists and teachers who achieved significant results in teaching and research activities.
