Graphics and Media Lab (GML) was established in 2002 as a part of Department of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. Laboratory possesses solid research experience in many areas of computer graphics, computer vision, image and video processing. Research is supported by Russian fund for basic research, state contracts, and by international companies Intel, Microsoft, Samsung.



Congratulations to Vlad Shakhuro, who is among winners of autumn final of "UMNIK" program, and has recieved grant for his project "Development of traffic sign detection algorithm".

Mikhail Sindeyev defended his PhD thesis “Research and development of video matting algorithms” on May 21, 2013 in Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics RAS.


Timur Ibadov, Sergey Ushakov and Alexander Velizhev won the competition for participation in development of Point Cloud Library ( within Code Sprint 2013, sponsored by Honda Research Institute. The Point Cloud Library (PCL) is a standalone, large scale, open source project for 3D point cloud processing. The team will implement and integrate into the library two modern algorithms for 3D point cloud recognition.

Pavel Batanov has won "UMNIK" contest which is held by Bortnik Fund with the work "Videoregistration system of sportsmen motion in team sports"
