High-precision polyhedral 3D reconstruction

Introduction

This project is devoted to high-precision reconstruction of polyhedral objects from silhouettes. The required accuracy is ~10 mkm. To achieve stated accuracy and to supply sufficient reconstruction robustness model-based approach is employed. The research is performed in cooperation with "OctoNus" company.

This project research topics include:

  • 2D contour analysis, contour noise alleviation;
  • Adaptive contour polygonal approximation with variable accuracy;
  • Polygonal contour matching via dynamic programming;
  • 3D object bones detection and reconstruction from contour fragments;
  • Object shape analysis and reconstruction from 3D bones and contours;
